This has increased my duties to include the management of both the Technical Department and co-ordination with the factory for production. I see all projects from the drawing stages to the fabrication and completion of the product to meet the client deadlines. I monitor the progress and purchase material or components required for the order. I have also been highly involved with the development of the system and the product we provide in an effort to improve the design.

This involved having a full understanding of how components of the balcony and curved doors systems work so I could produce drawings and design a product that fits the requirements of the client. I deal direct with clients and architects for residential and commercial projects to produce drawings for planning and fabrication using my AutoCAD qualification and the company’s own drawing software. I have also been involved with 3D drawings to produce visual models and installation instructions for our product.

This is the company that I organized doing work experience with. I was highly involved in the live projects that were ongoing as well as the admin and office work that needs to be tended to. I attended client meetings to communicate ideas for their needs and draft notes for future reference. I have used my AutoCAD skills to assist with drawings for the existing, planning and construction periods and I have learnt ArchiCAD modelling on the computer to present the ideas in a 3D form. I also performed admin work for the company in the form of letters and documents for clients or the local council aswell as writing up meeting minutes, answering calls and organising project files for easier use within the office.
