Building on this previous experience, my role as UK Sales Manager is to support the development and growth of new market opportunities within the UK. Vande Moortel is already a well established leading brand in Europe, with over an 80% market share in Belgium (home country), and now more than ever there is a desire and drive to expand on the success seen in Europe over the last 150+ years. Although the largest growth area is London and the South East, we have been actively trading both our brick and clay pavers as far south as Cornwall and up to and throughout Scotland with some high profile projects such as the Hendrick's Gin Distillery in Girvan and Anthology Hoxton Press in London.   My responsibilities included developing new business and servicing existing relationships in the South East region and the Greater London area – although not exclusively. Having come from a technical background as Senior Sustainability Consultant with over 9 years industry experience, I was also tasked with project managing our larger, high profile projects – coordinating our internal consultants, driving project efficiency and managing client expectations. I also advised clients on a range of subjects and provide strategic advice at tender stage in order to mitigate areas at risk of non-compliance. I carried out CPDs in order to raise the profile of Stroma Tech and our sustainability team, raise awareness of the company’s sustainability agenda and to promote collaborative thinking. I had the opportunity to work closely on schemes such as the Retrofit for the Future project, designed to deliver innovation through new technology-based products and services as well as carrying out Building Performance Evaluations on both schools and domestic dwellings. I took part in evaluating the new BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment pilot scheme and presented this case study at Sustainability Now 2011.
