I'm responsible for everything from advising on new software and tools, to integrating those new tools with our existing platform, architecting and implementing new features, improving the functionality and UX for existing features, and more. Since starting at Fresh Picks I've learned and had hands-on experience with almost every aspect of running an e-commerce website. Some highlights: - Migrated our back-end database and POS solution from SOAP based Microsoft RMS to a cloud based platform utilizing REST APIs and JSON, trained the non-technical warehouse staff on using the new system for everyday operations. - Created custom software integrations from our e-commerce front end to our email marketing platform and POS system. - Added new e-commerce features including free pickup, next day and same day delivery, and tiered shipping. - Improved the UX of existing features and updated the front-end design to be more consistent and responsive for all devices. - Implemented Google Analytics tracking, identified and improved SEO elements, managed Google ad campaigns. - Debugged and pushed fixes for several lingering issues the original website developers and previous dev contractor could not resolve.
