He ramped up quickly and did a great job understanding the project architecture and the different tools we use internally. He was not shy of providing feedback and alternatives when issues appeared. Lead implementation of TikTok style tagging-based recommendation system, seeing ~10% increase in engagement rate (NodeJS/ Python). Implemented the content tagger using CLIP to tag each user generated content with related interests, feedback loop to associated user's with the interests of the content with which they engage, and indexed search system to quickly retrieve content that is tagged with the users' inferred interests. Built UI for memory optimization feature that finds and removes cells with invisible formatting, reclaiming unnecessarily used memory in the spreadsheet. Worked with Performance Team to implement custom sorted array data structure that reduced the number of times the full array needed to be reallocated when adding/deleting items. Reduced runtime of add/delete operations from O(n^2) to ~O(nlogn), seeing over 100x speed improvements in some core operations.
