Researcher, scientist, engineer, and head barista at the Planetary Exploration Lab working under the guidance of Dr. Christopher E. Carr to develop instruments designed to aid in growing our understanding of life as we know it and as it may exist beyond the confines of Earth.

I work in an interdisciplinary lab combining experts in the field of Aerospace Engineering, Biology, and Earth and Atmospheric sciences. Under the guidance of Christopher E. Carr I led the engineering, design and fabrication of the BioX2 science instrument, tentatively due for arrival at the International Space Station in early 2022. The instrument is designed to fully automate the growth of a B. subtilis culture within a custom-designed growth chamber that includes the use of an in-house made UV LED board to impose a selective pressure. After growth, the instrument will also automate the DNA prep and sequencing procedure as developed for Oxford Nanopore's MinION.Additionally, I was also the lead engineer working in the BOOST project, a bubble-based organics concentrator designed for use on Ocean worlds. Leveraging rapid additive manufacturing techniques, I was able to develop a series of prototypes designed as a proof-of-concept testbed and conducted numerous experiments to access the prototype's efficacy at concentrating an aqueous solution containing Lambda DNA.I was also able to contribute to many other efforts in the lab, such as designing and fabricating a high-frequency faraday cage designed for use in the ELIE project, a gold nanogap single molecule detection device. I also contributed to the setup and outfitting of the lab with equipment, making recommendations and setting up fabrication facillities. Show less

Georgia Tech's premier budget racing team. We utilize our collective engineering and computation knowledge in conjunction with the tools and resources provided by Georgia Tech to develop winning cars built and bought entirely for $2000 to compete in the Grassroots Motorsports Challenge -Designed and fabricated engine mounting solution to adapt a 3.2 L V6/6 speed manual combo from an Acura TL to a 2003 Chevy S10, placing the drivetrain directly behind the cab for optimal weight distribution -Utilized 3D-scanning technology to create a model of the Chevy S10 for CAD work/part design -Designed a pushrod front suspension assembly utilizing a frame rail scan, designing around the ability to utilize flat steel plate for bracketry and eliminating the need for complicated suspension jigs -Spearheaded multiple projects not limited to turbocharging a 5.3 L Chevrolet V8 engine utilizing a Caterpillar turbo, developing a fuel system capable of running more than double the stock HP level, and designing an exhaust system to optimize space and budget constraints while still retaining a je ne sais quoi reminiscent of hot-rodding -Performed duties as a leader in Secretary and Press Secretary from 2017 to 2019 that helped revamp our social media and logistics and also trained the next generation of team members in metal fabrication, welding, and shop safety. -Contributed to a leadership team and culture that resulted in a more than 100% increase in active membership Show less

Worked under the guidance of Dr. Marylin J. Smith in the computational aeroelasticity lab to perform CFD runs utilizing both OTS software such as Fun3D and inhouse codes to help understand loading on geometry to aid in understanding the forces enacted upon rotorcraft sling loads. Additionally, I worked on developing MATLAB based aerodynamic modelling codes for rotorcraft, working towards debugging and validation and making changes that resulted in halving of computational time.
