Mikki joined us as a Creative Director on a project we were working on with a well-known Hollywood movie studio. His long experience from the games industry was instantly a great source of wisdom and he has a deep understanding of all the key areas of game development and publisher relations. Mikki was always willing to listen and give honest feedback for all the good, crazy and bad ideas I and the rest of the team had, and he became a invaluable part of the team. He was easy to work with, lead the creative team superbly, and was always on schedule, even though he was based in another city and mostly worked remotely with the team.

During my time at Remedy, Mikko went well above his duties and provided support, wisdom and endless amounts of humour. He quickly became infamous on the community I ran because of his ability to be grounded and humble. He was always willing to help out with anything I needed and always hit the mark with anything he delivered. I think it's proof of how nice of a guy he is when we're still in touch years after I've left the company. At the end of the day whatever I type here, Mikko can write so much better. Infinitely better.

Doing all sorts of narrative-related contracting work for numerous clients, ranging from tiny indie projects (my smallest client is literally a single person) to huge AAA productions (for clients like Ubisoft). Writing, directing, concepting, evaluating existing work, etc., with contracts ranging from just a few days to six months or more. Got a project that needs its storytelling looked at? Could be I'm your guy. I worked on a thing I can't talk about yet, writing and figuring out the storytelling for said thing.

Still a writer, but now a writer managing the rest of the writing team. There were Excel sheets and things like that I had to look after, so clearly, this was a great improvement on all possible fronts. I shipped a little game called Quantum Break in this position.

I wrote stuff, except now it was senior stuff. I also did a lot of work related to VO production and generally leveled up.Also, I tried to make them change my title to "middle-aged writer", but they refused. They said it's like a tattoo -- I'd only end up regretting it. But that's what tattoos are for!

I started work on Alan Wake as a freelancer, but Remedy quickly became a full-time commitment. I did story design, dialogue -- pretty much all that talky stuff that happens in between the shooting, running around, jumping and whatnot. I also did a whole lot of other things, mostly related to the storytelling one way or another.

I did game concept design, game design and related tasks, as well as world and character design and other more writing-oriented things for various unpublished projects. I also worked on the game design and written content of Trials HD, published on Xbox LIVE in August, 2009.
