Mike is passionate about his work, and he is very eager to not only excel at a given project but to also help others succeed. I appreciated his mentorship while at ADECA. He was always willing to show me the ropes. We made a really good team, and I consider my time working alongside him to be very invaluable.

Mike is one of the hardest working people I have ever met. He is a pleasure to work with, and a wonderful leader. I owe the success of the Laserfiche implementation and shared service to his hard work. He is helpful, quick to respond and is someone you want apart of your team.

    • Division of Product Management, Office of Information Technology (OIT)
      • Jan 2018 - Feb 2021

As the Director of Product Management I established a program with the mission to deliver sustainable services with a cost advantage through volume purchasing that is better than agencies can achieve separately and to manage the product from conception to eventual retirement or replacement. We listened and worked with client agencies to understand their needs, build products that matter, help maximize the State investment in information technology, and bring business value from the portfolio of products we manage. I developed the OIT Division of Product Management to deliver value to client agencies and to fill the gap between the purchase of technology and the release and delivery. This helped to ensure that information technology purchased by the State of Alabama did not sit idle on the shelf and was utilized to best serve the market requirements and agency business needs. I provided the business strategy and management for enterprise services that reached as many as 150 state agencies. Our contracts are statewide and often include options for local government. When considering the viability of our products services needed to provide a cost advantage to the agency and cover our cost of operations. I increased the program revenue 1200% over three years by diversifying and providing services at cost though planned budgeting and cost allocation. I supported multiple lines of business: Enterprise Content Management, Business Process Automation, and Collaboration. Products in my portfolio included: Adobe, Laserfiche, Microsoft 365, Agate Intelligrants, Gartner, Info-Tech Research, Mind Manager, solutions for electronic signature, and professional services for implementation. The Division of Product Management is well established and will continue to include additional products of growth, strategic interest, and opportunity to improve the quality of services provided by the State of Alabama. My associates kept me involved in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Show less
