Swinburne Goetech Laboratory Assistant Intern with duties: -Assisting with PHD candidates with their lab tasks-Undertaking soil testing-Sample preparation -Data entry after the testing using Microsoft Excel-Ensure the Lab is clean and tidy after the testDuring the internship period, I was a geotech lab assistant undertaking soil testing and sample preparation. The experiment is for Vic Roads pavement design with future sustainability purpose for reusing the industrial waste and mix these wastes to prepare a good sample and test the stiffness of the mixture. I learned how to use compactor to prepare UCS ( Unconfined Compressive Strength Test), RLT( Repeated Load Triaxial Test), CBR( California Bearing Ratio), IDT( Indirect Tensile Test) samples and beam samples, how to riffle the materials using riffle splitter, and also how to do Particle Sized Distribution and data entry by using Microsoft Excel after finishing the test. When the test is done, I have the ability to ensure the lab is clean and tidy for the next day. Occupational, Health and Safety (OH & S) are strictly applied.
