  Intern at Wocozon as a part of my master thesis. Influenced by changing regulations, Wocozon is exploring novel ways to adapt their value proposition. They are interested in the financial, environmental and societal effects of combining their PV-installations with battery energy storage systems; a text-book example of a Science, Business and Innovation-esque research topic. Using a qualitative research method, consisting mostly of conducting interviews, the following research question was answered: "How can battery energy storage mitigate the effects of the change in net-metering regulation for social tenants in the Netherlands, while retaining a positive business case for Wocozon?" Wocozon is a foundation that leases solar panels to housing corporations, so social tenants can make use of renewable energy, while lowering the electricity costs for the tenant. Their financing method allows them to do this without requiring an investment from the tenant or the housing corporation. Show less

Confocal.nl was interested in exploring new business models, leading to the following research question: "How will the implementation of a lease model affect the strategy of Confocal.nl?" Qualitative research, consisting mostly of interviews, was conducted. Additionally, the Business Model Canvas was used as a tool to communicate the findings in a concise manner. Located at the Amsterdam Science Park, Confocal.nl has developed a novel type of confocal microscope, that offers super-resolution capabilities at an affordable price-point. Show less
