Bio
Chase Thompson
Mike worked at DecisionPoint Advisors for two months during the summer after his Freshman year. During his time as a Summer Analyst, Mike constantly surprised us with his innate ability to grasp intricate concepts and quickly understand the intricacies of complex business functions. When he first arrived, Mike had not yet been exposed to the common M&A databases. However, within his first week, he learned how to navigate them, independently running comparable transaction analyses and creating potential candidate lists of 40-50 additional candidates for our sell-side advisory clients. Furthermore, Mike was able to communicate these reports with senior client executives, utilizing his research to help create Management Presentations sent directly to the CEOs of these companies. While many interns do not feel comfortable asking questions, Mike was extremely inquisitive, constantly wanting to learn more about investment banking and the finance industry as a whole. During his time at DecisionPoint, Mike did research on financial modeling, working independently to learn LBO and DCF financial modeling techniques. Due to these traits, I highly recommend Mike for future finance positions. His tenacity for learning and willingness to do all tasks, including the occasional menial data entry work, makes him an ideal candidate for a financial analyst position.
