LinkedIn friends ask what I do as a PI "Administrator". It's simply alphabet soup. PIO since day one, but we don't use the "O" because C-suite are officers. Thrilled to be a part of this great organization and I love coming to work each day because we truly live our mission!

    • Communications Manager

Incredibly excited to drive external and internal communications strategies in fulfilling our mission to support public health and protect the environment.I’m extremely proud to serve the greater Charleston area as part of an organization that truly cares about its customers, the exceptionally high quality of our product, and each other.

Truly enjoyed promoting and protecting Select Health of South Carolina, AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana and other AmeriHealth Caritas lines of medicaid managed care business as we helped people get care, stay well, and build healthy communities. Thrived in a highly specialized role with emphasis on media relations, community engagement, and crisis communications. Energized by a secondary focus on internal communications, government relations, and organizational awards. Fantastic organization with wonderful people truly committed to helping members, community partners, and each other. Will always miss the incredible communications professionals there, as well as the leadership team in S.C. ~ Sought other employment due to rapidly increasing travel required by shared services model. Absolutely loved managing the accreditation office and staff at 2013 and 2014 China Open tennis tournament. Credentialed ATP and WTA players, player support teams, and tournament VIP guests. Was more than glad to occasionally support player appearances and other off-court activities. Event staff and volunteers are wonderful, tournament is very impressive, and Beijing is amazing. ~ Separated because I wanted to stay home after the birth of my daughter. I'd love to return when my family can join me. I cannot thank the China Open staff enough for this incredible opportunity. Show less

Recruited by one of the most respected professionals in the tennis industry - she’s an amazing leader whose tenure brought unsurpassed excellence to the organization. Worked tirelessly to engage local/reg./nat./int. media to promote all Family Circle Tennis Center events: Family Circle Cup; World TeamTennis Finals; Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island; AVP Charleston Open; summer concert series; Hootie & The Blowfish Round-Up; local tennis programs; summer camps. Enjoyed constant adrenaline rush as Media Director during all facility events, while simultaneously managing credentials/accreditation, public and sponsor-driven player appearances, post-match press conferences, editorial content, social media engagement, website management, event photography/videography, a team of interns and paid and volunteer media center staff. Invigorated by directing year-round interns who spearheaded social media campaigns, published the majority of our print materials (programs/media guides/daily draw sheets and all other print collateral.) They also helped to design, built and manage all event websites. Developed annual Family Circle 8-page advertorial, as well as edited/proofread/approved all other organization-wide materials. Heart warmed managing community outreach partnerships: City of Charleston’s Courting Kids inner-city youth tennis program; Center for Women; College of Charleston. Additional duties: government relations, statistical management/ historian, event photography/photographer direction. Very proud to direct community coalition media relations outreach during Charleston's successful "Best Tennis Town in America" campaign (2010.) ~ Downsized in massive 8% workforce reduction across Meredith Corporation. Family Circle Cup became the Volvo Car Open after massive infusion of taxpayer dollars from the S.C. Dept. of Commerce to lure car maker to S.C. Show less

I genuinely enjoyed managing our departmental marketing, media relations, print publications and website, as well as our four major community events annually. Great people and wonderful programs dedicated to enriching the lives of everyone in the city, with a special emphasis on those with limited resources. ~ Departed to accept an incredible opportunity to work for my communications mentor/newly minted tournament director at the Family Circle Cup. Graduate internship of my dreams supporting an incredibly talented PR director/mentor who meticulously built my foundation in this profession. I was thrilled to spend the bulk of my time writing/editing, managing the tournament website, supporting community outreach initiatives, researching/developing the event's media guide, tournament program and other print collateral, as well as credentialing media, all leading up to and during the tournament. Enjoyed additional managerial duties in tournament's media center while working side-by-side with WTA staff and the most amazing group of volunteers! ~ Departed at the end of the internship, but I sure wanted them to create a spot so I could to stay. Still friends to this day with many of my highly talented fellow interns, WTA staff, and other tennis industry folks. Show less
