Mike's uniques blend of foresight and personalization is a breath of fresh air. Not quite sure how he hasn't been picked up by a national speaker's group, but I'm placing my bets now. If you need a voice of hard-earned, well-learned experienced to help break up personnel log jams...

I specialize in member representation and investigations that encompass discipline issues with the management and employee relations departments of Southwest Airlines on behalf of our membership. I Interview and document events that lead to investigative meetings with Chief Pilots or Employee Relations, as well as investigating and negotiating with management personnel on behalf of our pilot members. I help members navigate the grievance process, up to and including the System Board of Adjustment (SBOA), which is equivalent to that member's day in court to plead their case.

    • Vice President
      • Jul 2015 - Dec 2019

I was tasked with oversight and execution of Board direction for committees, special programs and engagement for the professional pilots of Southwest Airlines. I helped boost poor unity rankings and a failing mission to one of the most effective and highest approval ratings that the organization had in it's history during my terms in office.I consolidated and organized programs and committees that directly impacted pilots with mental/emotional health, addiction, peer conflict and family issues. I also worked with chairmen throughout the organization in the development of training processes and curriculum to raise the levels of service provided to our membership. Along with serving pilots and their families, I spent a great deal of time working with Domicile Representatives in negotiating outcomes in discipline and conflict for member interactions with management pilots and employee relations. In short, my tenure as Vice President was entirely about solving human problems and conflict, both with memberhsip, and internally.
