Operations Supervisor

Jan 1993 - May 2002
**While at EMJ, I held several positions, including the following: Operations Supervisor: I was responsible for 60 warehousemen and 10 drivers in a union environment. I was able to increase production without the increase of manpower, and developed operations expense plan for upcoming year. Production Supervisor: Twenty-six employees reported to me in the Plate Division. I developed and implemented successful expense plans, while increasing output from 1 million lbs. month to 1.6 million lbs. We cut expenses and increased production while having staff decreases through attrition. I participated in contract negotiations and union relations. Through training and implementation of new software developed by IT, I was able to bring the warehouse into the technological age. Senior Office Clerk: Managed $1.6 million of plate inventory, including deductions and wall-to-wall inventory. "Cycle Counts" were created to provide a more accurate inventory, which the sales department was able to access. This aided in the on-time delivery performance, while reducing time to create a sales order. I monitored the flow of production using the OMS software program, and was responsible for all documentation for delivery to customers. Routed Common Carriers and UPS trucks with 48,000 pounds of material daily. Warehouseman: Filled orders that required overhead cranes, operated CNC plate-burning machines, oxy-fuel and plasma, forklift trucks, Raymond side loaders, overhead cranes, Sigmanest software.
