Mesa County Colorado, MESA-58-M.6 Bridge Replacement – Project Manager/Lead Structural Engineer Project included providing design services for a single-span bridge over Big Creek, including improvements to the adjoining roadway, and intersection. Responsible for managing structural scope and budget, subconsultant oversight, quality assurance of design calculations and construction ready drawings. Montana Dept. of Transportation, Statewide Load Ratings – Project Manager/Lead Structural Engineer Project included load rating more than 250 bridges throughout Montana. Types of bridges included steel and reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, slab, timber, corrugated steel culverts, and structures with mixed materials. Typical bridges were rated using AASHTOWare BrR software, and complex bridges were rated using MDX or STAAD supplemented with in-house spreadsheets. Responsible for managing scope, budget, schedule and providing QA.

City of Phoenix, Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport Automated People Mover – Lead Structural Engineer Project included Phase 2 services for the PHX Sky Train® project which extended 2.5 miles from Terminal 2 to the Rental Car Center. The scope for the elevated guideway portion included designing superstructure and substructure for 75 spans. Tasks included drilled shaft, column, and pier cap design/drawings and calculation preparation for multi-column bents and checking foundation and substructure design/drawings for single column bents. Further responsibilities included concrete U-beam design for roughly 35 spans and checking concrete U-beam designs for roughly 40 spans. Part of this check included a complex continuous five span spliced concrete U-beam design over the Taxiway. Also, post design services for the spliced bridge included working with the contractor to determine temporary shoring tower loads, due to multiple post tensioning stages.

California High Speed Rail Authority, California High Speed Train Project – Structural Engineer Construction Package 1 (CP 1) is the first significant construction contract executed on the Initial Operating Section of the high-speed rail project. The CP1 construction area is a 29-mile stretch between Avenue 17 in Madera County to East American Avenue in Fresno County. It includes 12 grade separations, 2 viaducts, 1 tunnel and a major river crossing over the San Joaquin River. Responsible for re-design of 4 Overhead Highway Structures because of foundation utility conflicts, Intrusion Protection Barrier design, and deck design for a Pergola structure which contained more than 200 prestressed girders. Province of Saskatchewan, Regina Bypass Project – Structural Engineer The Regina Bypass included 12 new overpasses, and 40 kilometers of new four-lane highway. The route bypasses the city of Regina, making it faster and safer. Tasks included prestressed concrete girder design, steel girder and cross-frame design, and foundation analysis.

Texas DOT, SH 360 / IH 30 Interchange Project – Structural Engineer Project included design services for the SH 360 / IH30 interchange, which contains five main lane bridges, and 3 long steel span direct connectors. Tasks included substructure and foundation design for 4 main lane bridges, one with construction phasing, and designing the EB/NB steel superstructure fly over ramp. KYTC / IFA, Kentucky/Indiana, Ohio River Bridges East End Project – Structural Engineer Project included the design and construction of two signature cable stayed bridges over the Ohio River; including the roadways and structures of the surrounding areas on both sides of the Ohio River, 25 retaining walls, and a tunnel. Tasks include superstructure and substructure design for Ramp A (Two-span curved steel), Wolf Pen (Single-span prestressed concrete), Harrods Creek (5 span steel- 1230’), and Approach bridge (8 span steel-1925’). Caltrans, I-5 Corridor Improvement Project – Structural Engineer Project included the design and construction of three bridge widenings, as well as Retaining Wall No. 349 near Via California. Tasks included quantity and cost estimate, and seismic analysis for three bridge widenings; Camino Capistrano, Route 5/1 Separation, and N5/N1 Connector Separation.
