As a music teacher, my responsibility is to help others find a love for music. To help others become independent and self sufficient in the field of music. That ranges from teaching scales and chords, all the way to how sound is ultimately created, and altered along it's way. To a certain degree, there is also a level of psychological assessment that has to be done in order to properly help people become self sufficient in the field. For example, a person who has attention deficit disorder requires a different kind of approach in methodology compared to a person without this condition. So I am also responsible for properly integrating a teaching method that is suitable for all sorts of situations like this. Ultimately, I have the responsibility to show people both the objective and subjective sides to music. Understanding both equally allows the student to study concrete musical terms, ideas and sounds that have been created and will remain unchanged... but also be able to use those things in a way that is unique to them, and only them as an individual.
