  Consulting for the European Commission, involved in the development of the Africa Geothermal Continental Energy Masterplan (CMP), a project run by the European Commission and the African Union Development Agency (AUDA - NEPAD). The overall objective of the assignment was to provide the necessary inputs for the development of a robust and accurate CMP model that takes into consideration the role of geothermal power generation in the continent’s energy mix, in line with the road map for the African Single Electricity Market (AfSEM). • Development of Continental Energy Masterplan • Description of the work program and an overview of the existing studies and reports to be used in the next Phases of the assignment. • Presentation and review of the readily available reports and studies on Geothermal Power Plants. • Geothermal Power Plant potential, technology perspectives and cost - Regulatory, financing, market and technical integration issues. • Identification and analysis of the regulatory, financing and market operation issues which influence the deployment of geothermal power as well as technical integration issues. • Analysis of ways to be included in the CMP and possible remedies. • Key inputs for the modelling of CMP - Formulation of alternative scenarios for the geothermal power plants which can be incorporated in the CMP scenarios and analysis. • Geothermal Energy identity and recommendations for Africa - Follow up actions and recommendations on existing but also new programs and flagship technology developments (including corridors, technology hubs and parks, industrial clusters, etc.) geographically.
