I had the pleasure of working with Michael while he was at Tourism Vancouver. Michael brought a number of great opportunities not only to the hotel but to the city of Vancouver. Michael has a long list of great contacts and always works hard to ensure his clients and suppliers are up to date and happy.

Mike Fox managed the Sport Tourism dept at Tourism Vancouver. This market is unique in business style compared to other association convention business and Mike has strong network skills to identify and link new sport business opportunities for Vancouver. His knowledge of the sport industry and sport associations made him an assest to our office. A great team player and focused on the overall goals of the company.

The Manager of Sports Tourism was charged with the primary responsibility of identifying, targeting and securing sport related events and conferences for the economic benefit of the city and the member partners. This was done through my understanding and knowledge of both the local and international sports industry and my continued relationship building with the hospitality and service industry. In an effort to coordinate the cities sports business community I re-established the Vancouver Sports Tourism Task Force an industry network of sports groups, facility operators, city councillors, city staff and event planners whose goal is to establish Vancouver as a recognised sport host destination. In 2008, the sport tourism office compiled and produced a marketing document that lead to Vancouver being recognised as the Ultimate Sports City in the Americas by Sport Business International.
