I am a project manager and I am currently pursuing my professional licensure in Architecture. While at JKLA, I was responsible for taking projects from the programming phase through construction administration. I met with clients, franchisee owners, and corporate entities to discuss their goals, objectives, time constraints, and budgets. From the initial meeting through construction I would serve as their contact, and representative. I would gather up information on existing conditions through research and on site field measuring. From there I would draw up the existing conditions, and create schematic designs. Once the client and I agreed upon the best design to achieve their goals, I would create construction documents. These would involve coordination between MEP, structural, and civil engineers, as well as any other specialty disciplines. The construction documents are then sent to the correct jurisdictions for review. If there were any questions or changes I would handle those or coordinate with the appropriate disciplines. If needed I would issue the drawings for bid and handle any RFI’s or concerns that the bidders had. Once the building permit is issued and the project awarded to a contractor I would coordinate and handle any construction administration as needed. From reviewing shop drawings, making weekly progress reports, and serving as representative to the client, I would oversee the progress and completion of the project. In addition to my architectural responsibilities, I was in charge of creating and maintaining our marketing material and website. This consisted of organizing pictures of past and present projects, design, editing, and printing of marketing material as well as website design and maintenance. Technical proficiencies of mine include AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Form-Z, PowerPoint, Macromedia Flash, Microsoft Excel and Word. Show less
