When I think of the four years I spent working with Mike -- on a daily basis in a highly collaborative capacity for most of that time -- I come back to three key takeaways about him: he's efficient, he's innovative, and he's a great colleague to work with. I had a front row seat each day to watch how Mike can produce work under incredibly tight deadlines without sacrificing quality in the finished product. Later, I also was the beneficiary (and so was our audience) of the truly superior work Mike produces when given just a bit more time to develop highly specialized projects. In both capacities, I was impressed with his collaborative, outside-the-box thinking approach that, indeed, led him to more innovative solutions on his assigned projects, but also saw him going beyond his prescribed role in collaborating with senior staff and colleagues to problem solve, mentor, and brainstorm new technological workflows. All of this makes Mike a great team member, but the thing I'll remember most about my time working with him was how I laughed, and enjoyed coming to work on the days we collaborated. His kindness and sense of humor toward his co-workers also extended to clients and community members he encountered on assignments. While the quality of Mike's work makes him an asset to any team, he's first and foremost the type of teammate I'd hope to have anywhere I work.

I worked with Mike at WHIO(CMG) in Dayton, OH where Mike served as our special projects producer and a highly skilled photojournalist. Mike has creative vision and extraordinary talent for visual storytelling that produces work that is compelling, beautifully shot and edited and incredibly engaging and memorable to the audience. In other words-simply brilliant storytelling that any media outlet or production house would be proud to claim. His vision, creativity and technical skills have led him to be a highly valued collaborator within our company and the Dayton community. As the general manager who worked with Mike, I saw him work long and passionately to shoot and edit stories to make certain that we delivered the true essence of the subject or the project so that our audience could clearly enter the world and mind of his subjects. It was great television and earned Mike and his collaborators lots of regional awards and praise. Despite working long hours to provide incredible final products on time and within budget, Mike is always willing to take extra time to help a colleague or provide valuable feedback or advice. He was a fantastic team member and I would not hesitate to work with Mike again if given the opportunity.
