A significant part of the Indelease fleet is highly specialist and I’m qualified to ensure every vehicle is both the best possible fit for the purpose required and fully compliant.   I had oversight of 14 workshops nationwide with overall responsibility for vehicle maintenance budgets, technical support, health and safety policy and training. I worked closely with manufacturers, suppliers and customers in support of a fleet of around 10,000 LCVs and 2,500 HGVs and ancillaries. Responsibilities included: • Setting maintenance budgets for all vehicles, from cars to highly specialised HGVs with multiple ancillary fitments, for up to 10 years’ service • Working with manufacturers, suppliers and customers to devise solutions, overcome issues and negotiate costs • Overseeing 14 workshops nationwide and setting up new ones alongside a refurbishment programme of existing facilities • Managing a team of around 100 static and mobile engineers in support of key contract hire accounts • Setting and maintaining health and safety policy and establishing an engineer apprentice programme to provide training and progression • Providing advice to sales and purchase departments, as well as direct to customers, on vehicle and body builder specification Show less
