  Came to Custom Castings in June 1995 as the Quality Assurance Manager to implement the Fiat/New Holland Qualitas quality management system and achieve certification to ISO 9002:1994. Custom Castings achieved certification to both standards in 1996 and continues to be certified to ISO9001:2015 In 2005 combined both Quality Assurance and Engineering departments into one tightly integrated & cross functional department. Current department structure includes tool design and simulation, manufacturing engineering, process improvement, metallurgy and quality functions. Introduced high end CAD software ( Unigraphics NX ), casting solidification software ( Magma ), increased measurement capabilities by adding a CNC CMM. Most recently introduced a Quality Assurance Lab with equipment for tensile testing (mechanical properties testing), photo spectrometry (chemical composition analysis of alloys) and density testing (gas content).   Trouble shooting production problems and recommending changes to design and processes to Boeing corporate in Everett Wa. Managed projects of all sizes including transfer of work package (747 "Wedge Assembly") from Everett plant to Winnipeg. Managed many smaller projects to implement engineering changes of various sizes. Coordinated tooling changes with tooling department, and supported production departments primarily for 747 components and assemblies.
