Ran the base and its battlespace safely, efficiently and professionally, and to orchestrate withdrawal of all Coalition Forces personnel and equipment in order to return the site to the Government of Iraq. My team worked closely with other US, Iraqi and Azerbaijani military personnel to maintain security at a remote Bn-sized position, controlling a critical piece of Iraqi irrigation and hydroelectric production. Hired and supervised hundreds of Iraqi contractors in site clearance and demilitarization, completely removing thousands of items of military and KBR property, totaling tens of millions of dollars. Ensured minimal operational and environmental impact on the dam and its surrounding terrain, as well as large areas of the Euphrates River and Lake Qaddasiya. Show less
