S’YA Concept was a development fund dedicated to creating original crossover content with established talent. With offices in Singapore, Sydney and Los Angeles, our main focus was on upstream development of film, television and VR content. The fund was established by the founder of the exclusive Sanchaya Luxury Resort in Bitan, Indonesia. Responsibilities included: - setting up the company, overseeing day-to-day management, planning, production and execution of high-level events worldwide. - sourcing and analyzing investment opportunities - conducting full due diligence and preparing reports for the fund’s founder - setting up the corporate social responsibility program by establishing the Mr. Morris Foundation. The NGO offered young adults in Indonesia scholarships to attend a hospitality school and then offered them employment at the prestigious Sanchaya Luxury Resort.Mr Morris was the regional partner for Smile train in that region. Mr. Morris supports “Anugerah” social foundation in Bintan. It’s a unique initiative that hosts a home for the elderly and an orphanage, under the same roof. - creating a merchandising line and securing the official gift bag sponsorship title at the 2020 Golden Globes. The Doha Tribeca Film Festival was a partnership between Robert De Niro’s Tribeca Enterprise and the Royal Family of Qatar’s Doha Film Institute. The annual five-day film festival that was held from 2009 to 2012 in order to promote Arab and international films, and to develop a sustainable film industry in Qatar. Hosting over 50,000 viewers in 2010, the festival quickly became one of the largest and most prolific cultural entertainment events not just in Qatar, but within the entire Middle Eastern and the North African region. Responsibilities included: - managing the annual budget - overseeing all operations of the festival’s entire production, including HR, Finance, Operations, Budget Management, Business Planning, Communications & Marketing, Contract Negotiations, Fundraising and Sponsorship Activation. - recruiting and managing a team of over 250 seasonal hires required for the delivery of the event across 18 key departments including sponsorship, marketing, operations, event production, guest relations, etc.

Founded in 2002, in the town of Cluj, in northern Romania, the festival has grown rapidly to become the most important film-related event in Eastern Europe. In 2002 we screened 30 movies and the total budget was €400K. By 2010, we were screening over 150 movies, welcomed 25,000 viewers and had an operating budget of €1,4. A decade later, right before Covid, the festival grew to 200 screened films, 50,000 spectators and a budget of €1,8 million. Responsibilities included: - recruting and managing a team of 90 professionals (both operational and development teams). - securing corporate sponsorships for a total of $5 million. - growing from year to year in both the number of films screened, number of participating guests and making sure the bottom line is in always positive.
