The mission was finding a target audience outside the home country of Slovenia for a time attendance SaaS product. I became deeply embedded in the product side of things, especially from the point of analytics, running different A/B tests, implementing Hotjar and Amplitude and suggesting many small product changes. After this I was offered product management of All Hours which I gladly accepted.Working with in-house developers as well as outsourced mobile developers we quickly built two brand new mobile apps (native Android and iOS) with an emphasis on usability improvements. Longer description: As a small company our publishing house requires a lot from its technical editor - I prepare files for printing, take care of the actual book and bookcover design and design our promotional materials. I also help to choose books, meet agents and attend book fairs in order to find the best possible titles that meet our criteria and fit into our program. I apply our editions and our program for different subsidies and translation grants which means I need to handle different birocratic hurdles from budgets to cover letters and everything in between. I keep in touch with our partners abroad where I negotiate and coordinate contracts and agreements for translation rights and other everyday needs (meetings, invoices, etc). I often fill the shoes of the traveling sales representative where I visit some of our biggest clients such as schools, libraries, book shops and other institutions in order to present our work and drive sales. Finally, I also design books for printing, prepare the files and work with the printer to make our titles a physical reality. I also work as the inhouse designer for book covers and marketing materials (catalogues, business cards, ads, etc). This means I also help to plan and prepare our marketing efforts.   I've been working in design for quite some time now. My duties in our publishing house include everything from business cards, flyers and website design - basically taking care of the company's image.But that's just the beginning. I'm also the author of most of our original book covers for various novels and I also prepare books for printing from a desktop publishing point of view. That means I'm pretty good with tools like Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator as well as their evil twins such as Quarkexpress.I used to keep a list of finished projects but it was pretty long and kept growing so I just retired it or it would start to look silly.   TL;DR version:- Sales representative for several years in a tough market.- Gained organizational, sales and people skills.Longer read:I have been a travelling sales representative for Zala Publishing for several years now. The job consists of a lot of driving, keeping schedules, looking presentable and of course generating sales in a small and not very lucrative market.My customers are mostly schools, libraries and other institutions which have been hit hard by the recession of recent years. However, I manage to do my job quite well and have since acquired the help of two additional sales people with whom I coordinate at present.I am capable of presenting products, negotiating offers, adapting to situations and completing sales goals.
