Assistant Director Of Security

Oct 2020 - Present
Most importantly protecting all persons on campus at any given time. Secondary duties include enforcing school policies, parking students and running traffic for all events, running cameras and being overwatch for our campus when possible, training all new officers, A typical day includes parking students in the morning and being presence during arrival times, patrolling the campus and addressing any requests from staff and my director. There is also presence during dismissal and keeping things flowing smoothly throughout multiple different events many times happening at once or close to it. While completing what's mentioned above, there's meetings and admin requirements, there's health emergencies that we respond to and logistics to nail down for different big events throughout the year. As the head of school says, we're not only security officers but community officers. Show less

For this position I was the lead officer / supervisor on site for the security contractor component. I was tasked with being the liaison between the school and Garda. By this time I was already taking on most of the duties of the assistant director position and I was also handling reporting, scheduling, officer development and reviews. While working for CIS, I gained experience working security from gatekeeper all the way up to sergeant with a team of 8 under me. With my time at CIS I worked apartment complexes, rover spots, construction sites, even worked at Metropolitan Ministries for a while. Once I obtained the position to work on Carrollwood Day's campus, I started as the front desk officer. I wanted to grow within the agency and gained more training and knowledge through the Guardian program. After I was able to achieve that, I worked my way to becoming corporal and was made supervisor. Up until the point of supervisor, my duties included checking all visitors in before they were able to move about the campus, assisting the front desk staff member to coordinate early pickups of students that we received calls and emails for. I also had to be sure to keep watch for any unknown persons trying to skip check-in. I was also keeping track of the days itinerary and keeping the rest of the team informed so that things would run smoother for all involved. I would help locate students and with all fire and lockdown drills. As I transitioned from front desk to Guardian and supervisor, my duties naturally increased and I was no longer at front desk. While working for the agency, I started as gate security for a small subdivision in Odessa and began working different sites as they became available around Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater and out to Indian Rocks. The sites include duties from fire watches, gate security, armed patrol, rover, liability mitigation, risk management, and crime prevention.
