Conducted assessments and develop case plans for clients that have been recently released from incarceration or that have had involvement in the criminal justice system. Created relationships with local organizations and collaborate with other Reentry Specialists to further strengthen the case management team of the client. Engage in outreach efforts to local employers to provide job opportunities to our clientele. Provide resume writing and job search assistance/job referrals. Overall, my aim was in assisting the justice-involved in overcoming the barriers that are associated with having a criminal record - further minimizing the collateral consequences of incarceration. As an Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) in the Marine Corps Reserve, I was assigned as a Section Leader for the Assaultman Section in a Weapons Platoon. While in the Section Leader billet, my job included making sure that all Marines within the Section (10 to 12 Marines) were up to date on new training and that they were proficient in the fundamentals of being an Assaultman.
