Senior developer for the Tech Pod team - First hire of an entire new team, built from scratch, to work on the Yahtzee Franchise. First game of Scopely’s portfolio, with more than 10 years worth of legacy code. Helped build the engineering team, by creating an onboarding plan, and helped executing it. - Designed and implemented an entire new DLC system from scratch, using the Addressables package and making full use of Sprite Atlas variants to deliver highest quality visual content possible for each device range, with scalable build times that don't degrade over time. Integrated runtime API to manage memory usage automatically. - Full set of Unity tooling to abstract and shield the Addressables configuration. - Automatic bundle building and uploading, by detecting changes to assets made by the developers, with a series of GitHub Actions and Jenkins pipelines. - Redesigned and reimplemented the entire build pipeline in Unity, working closely with the Jenkins engineers, to bring down Unity player build times from 2h 30 minutes, down to 25 minutes. - Asset bundles job from 4 hours down to 20 minutes. - Modular Addressables bundles building job 15-20 minutes. - Live Ops DLC build jobs from 40 minutes down to 5 minutes, saving hundreds of effective man-hours. - Implemented multitude of Unity tools, quality of life features and performance fixes to improve the overall performance of every engineer in the team. - In charge of tech compliance tasks such as delicate third party SDK & plugin updates, such a purchasing package or Unity versions themselves. - Fixed hundreds of miscellaneous issues.
