Mechanical engineering intern for the Energy Innovation Lab. Main job roll was to provide rapid prototyping and final design support for electronics and electronic enclosures. Worked with electrical engineers to integrate PCB designs and mechanical components. Designs were created in Solidworks and manufactured in house. Rapid prototypes were manufactured on 3D printers, traditional and CNC machines. Key Project, Marine Corps Mobile Tactical Power Unit- Integrate new lithium battery system into Humvee. New enhanced battery capacity system provided extended use of on board electronics, radios and silent operations without having to start vehicle reducing the over all consumption of fuel. New battery system was developed to interface to current standards in accordance with Marine Corps, and NATO. Mobile tactical power unit subsystem was developed along side new battery system to provide DC to AC power to the war-fighter. Wireless battery state of charge and system monitoring was developed to provide the war fighter with extended flexibility while in use. Show less
