dr. Matyas Liptovszky
Miguel is a very experienced zoo professional with a huge amount of expertise in different fields including animal husbandry and management, health and safety, conservation, but also in people management and business management. I had the pleasure to work with him for nearly two years and it was great to see how our different experiences were joined every day to achieve the best in animal welfare, veterinary medicine, research or conservation. He has an extensive professional peer network and his connections definitely benefit him during his work. His experience in different countries and continent means he has an outstanding understanding of different cultures and opinions and he can very effectively utilise this during his work. He has great communication skills and a clear vision, which goes a long way when managing a team. He has a scientific and rational approach to difficult situations and animal welfare is of utmost importance to him. He is one of those few people in the zoo community having equally strong animal knowledge and people management skills, which makes him an exceptional manager in this field.
