      Worked as a Research & Innovation Global Development Lab Consultant with La Familia Ayara, a hip hop based non-profit organization in Bogota, Colombia. My main project consisted of designing an arts-based peace building program in an urban setting. The main deliverable was a manual of themes and activities for hip hop teachers to use so they could offer hip hop workshops around the theme of peace building. Some of the tasks I carried out to create the deliverable were: - Carried out literature review around the following themes: hip hop and arts based program, peace building, and general readings on violence and peace in Colombia in order to increase knowledge of effective peace building strategies and arts based social programs, as well as to better understand the historical, social, and cultural background of Colombia and Bogota and its armed conflict. - Interviewed La Familia Ayara's staff and other youth in Bogota in order to better understand reality of conflicts in urban settings in Bogota and La Familia Ayara's methodology. - Attended and participated in some of La Familia Ayara's workshops in order increase understanding of their methodologies and strategies. - Presented manual to staff and received their input in order to improve the manual based on their feedback as well as to instruct them on the intended use. - Wrote a handbook of peace building through arts, which I handed to La Familia Ayara's staff and teachers so that they can implement in workshops with youth. I received a fellowship from UC Berkeley's Global Development Fund.
