As part of my responsibilities at Young People's Ministries (YPM), I served as the overall event director of the Global Young People's Convocation, a global gathering of youth and young adults held on July 18-23, 2018 at the Indaba Hotel & Conference Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa. More than 300 delegates from 40 countries participated in this event. I led a team of diverse, creative, and talented young people from around the world to plan for and implement a program that integrated worship, leadership development, small group discussion of various topics that young people are passionate about, and a legislative process. Our staff team at YPM provided support for the visa application of about 80 people. I coordinated with 10 agencies, commissions, and other offices of the United Methodist Church in resourcing the event.
