Initially, I was part of a new innovation centre focusing on utilising emerging technologies such as Virtual Reality and Internet of Things to create Proof of Concepts to showcase to the business with a view to solve real business problems with new technologies. The teams function evolved to become an in house product team capable of building & releasing solutions to issues researched closely with the business. The graduate training program at Iress were QA led courses in several languages such as C#, HTML & CSS, .NET MVC & Azure. As well as the languages themselves, they served as a great way to teach OOP & Computer Science fundamentals. Following the completion of the training programme, I joined a project for a financial market solution where I gained excellent experience in an Agile & software engineering environment that laid the foundations for my career.
