Ms. Annie Sells, MSL

Dr. Mickey Slimp traveled to Arkansas and was the key note speaker for the opening session of AATYC's 1,000-person Annual Conference. His presentation was on the Road Ahead, one paved with technology, applications, Death by iPhone, and Distance Learning. Dr. Slimp is a knowledgeable, humble, unassuming, and generous man who offered our friends and colleagues insight into the ARE-ON project, Internet II and ways to utilize the changes ahead to our advantage as educators and economic developers.

Dr. Mickey Slimp has extraordinary skills in bringing people together to achieve a common goal. I noted his expertise in this area while securing a grant to provide wireless Internet access in homes of women who were survivors of abuse. Dr. Slimp lends wit, optimism, and one of the keenest intellects I've ever known to any project, and he looks to the heart of the project rather than the magnitude when he joins an effort. He told me, "I judge a project not by the dollar amount but by the impact it can have." I appreciate his vision, and it is my honor to give him the highest recommendation.
