Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school district’s facilities and grounds. Develop and oversee capital, L.T.F.M., Health and Safety and construction bond budgets. Creating an energy management policy to be adopted by the school board and oversee its implementation. Facilitate meetings with architects, engineers and construction companies to develop plans for construction. Perform annual performance reviews on facilities administrative and support team Ensure custodial, maintenance, grounds keeping, health & safety and security programs are responsive to educational programming needs and support the mission of the school district. Authorize and monitor departmental expenditures for compliance with statutory requirements, district procedures and sound fiscal management practices and ensure expenditures are in alignment with the department budget. Administer, in accordance with district procedures and applicable bargaining unit contracts, the human resource and labor relation functions of the department to include: recommendation of staffing levels, assignment of work, contract negotiation and interpretation, recruitment, selection, training, evaluating, transferring, promoting, disciplining and if necessary, terminating of departmental employees.
