CTO & Head Of Engineering on workforce automation and recruitment platform. The platform uses AI and data analytics to identify and score Candidates applying for Jobs. Developed the strategic plan for the business, pitching and raising capital from Angel investors early on, and later city investment funds. Using tools such as Wardley maps to understand the competitive ecosystem we were operating in, and tools such as Jobs To Be Done to drive customer focused Product development. Responsible for building a cross functional team of 40, covering engineering, product management and AI. In a hands on role I was responsible for all aspects of product development, from analysis, design and development. I worked daily with the Data Science team designing ML algorithms and data products to meet the needs of the business. I was also responsible for Cloud Architecture, Security and Compliance We used Data Science & Machine Learning to build tools for recruiters. For example, - Mathematical representations of the workforce - Statistical distributions of markets - Novel ranking and recommendations systems with explainable results - Semantic models of skills, job titles Graph models of companies The major challenge when building these products is the sheer breath in skills required to take a product from R&D to production, and build the feedback loops and continuous learning elements. Not only do you have to build and maintain R&D infrastructure, but also model training, deployment, feedback systems, alongside all the typical challenges of developing a 24/7 internet facing distributed system.
