I had the pleasure of working with Michiel when he spent some time in our offices in the Netherlands. Michiel worked in our marketing department, reporting directly to me, he replaced an existing employee who was on sick leave. Because I spend my time travelling around our European offices Michiel had to work under minimal supervision, in addition we were not able to provide a handover from the person he replaced. Michiel analysed all the email conversations that his predecessor had been having and was quickly able to establish a list of outstanding tasks and develop an action plan. Michiel was excellent at taking the initiative and was able, with just minor direction to take tasks through to completion. He possesses a high level of confidence and was not afraid of asking for support and advice from all people that he came into contact with. I always felt confident that if I gave Michiel a task to do it would be completed on time and to my satisfaction. Michiel undertook many tasks related to marketing communications including advertisement review and scheduling, exhibition organization and planning and internal communications related to product launches. Michiel worked well with our agency on brochure design. I would not hesitate to recommend Michiel for any marketing communications role. I feel sure that his ongoing education will build his confidence and knowledge even further
