Research Analyst - Energy Finance and Transport

At the ECF, my research revolves around the clean energy and electric vehicle transitions. It directly supports the Foundation’s strategic communication strategy. Broadly speaking, my work can be placed in the following categories: *The clean energy transition* - Providing regular commentary on growth and developments in renewable energy markets either by country or technology. *Electric vehicles (EVs)* - Analysing the impact government policy has on EV sales and the potential disruption this causes in existing car markets and car companies. - Developing a ranking system to compare the electrification strategies of 10 auto manufacturers. *Net-zero in oil and gas* - Shaped my team’s analytical framework for analysing corporate net-zero targets, mainly in the oil and gas sector. - Developed a model to compare the net-zero strategies of integrated oil and gas companies (IOCs), such as Shell and TotalEnergies. - Produced several reports analysing both the investment strategies of IOCs, as well as their emissions reduction targets - Currently write a monthly newsletter on the clean energy investments of IOCs, which has so far attracted 500 subscribers *Commodity markets* - Expanded my team’s research on critical mineral commodity markets, such as cobalt and nickel. - Currently coordinate the ECF’s research strategy on energy and commodity markets following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.
