  Since 2018 Metropool programmes all kinds of pop-related music in two venues in two cities; Hengelo and Enschede. Funded by both townships this is the first cultural venue in the Netherlands to cross city borders. Besides the own stages varying from 150 to 850 persons capacity stages, Metropool also programmes together with the Wilmink theatre in the Muziekcentrum with a capacity of 1800 persons on a regular base. Additional Metropool also produces and programmes concerts at the Hermte open air theatre with a 2500 persons capacity. In order to support local musicians Metropool supports local talent in various programmes, besides schooling and actively starting up talented young artists, Metropool also rents out 15 rehearsal spaces to bands, dj’s and music schools. Alltogether Metropool is aiming at 100.000 visitors for 2019.In my role as the Operational Manager I am responsible for a smooth course of our productions; safety and overall experience (audio/lights/video, hospitality, artist handling) first but within a mean and lean budget with maximum revenue. I attract new colleagues where needed and keep my production crew motivated and up-to-date. We continously adapt and renew our workflows as a team to new technologies and customer demands. Metropool now has 25 colleagues employed, works with 30 to 40 freelancers and 250 volunteers, most of them are my responsiblity. Besidess production i am also in charge of facilty management. I make sure our real estate is maintained properly and decide when we renew or adapt.Alltogether I manage five departments and contribute to the management team and report to the director. Show less

  It is my responsibility to make sure that all our visitors, artists and employees have a great experience at our venue, whether its a technical issue with lights and sound or a good 'vibe' in the backstage or clean toilets, everything that contributes to you coming back to us for an other good night out is my concern. Ofcourse I have to make sure that all of that happens within the budgets. Alltogether I manage around 120 employees, contribute to the staff and MT.

  I set up a new team of technicians, upgraded all the equipment, made connections with local educations, setup live-sound lessons in our venue. Upgraded the overall standard of our sound and light so we were ready to move on to the brand new venue in 2009.

  Freelance audio engineer: I run my own recording studio where i produce between 5 to 15 full lengths, demo's, mini's a year. I record, mix and master. I also work as a 'live' soundengineer. As a front of house engineer I have toured with; Sick of it all, Biohazard, Napalm Death, Agnostic Front, Asphyx, Hail of Bullets, Soulburn, Erwin Nyhoff and many more througout Europe, usa and some parts of Russia. As a local sound engineer I work for companies like Hecla Professional, Decilux Audio, Fraizle sound and light, Innovation Audio etc. Besides sound i can also do tourmanagement, which means preproduction, settling and taking care of everything you don’t want to take care of.
