My research is focused on the effects of incentives. Questions include how organizations should be organized given the preferences of employees and available performance measures, what effects do team rewards have, and can people be pushed to set ambitious goals and achieve them? To analyze these questions I use both gametheory and run field experiments to test theory empirically. I have run field experiments to evaluate the impact on quantitative and qualitative factors of a temporary incentive measure in commercial and educational settings.I have been teaching at both an advanced (masters) and introductory (first years) level, and find that helping students develop an understanding of the economic problems discussed is much more fruitful than focusing on solution algorithms. Besides leading workgroups I have been involved in material revision and coordination of teaching assistants.
