I have worked with Michiel in two different roles. The first role was while he was performing his master study thesis at Seatrade: I was working as a Phd student at the Delft University of Technology at that time and assisted Michiel in translating his vision into models to support his ideas. The second role was as a consultant in IT simulation projects: one project for Star Clippers and the other project was for a fish factory in Spain . All projects had in common that Michiel knew perfectly what he wanted as a final solution: Michiel has vision and has the ability to communicate his approach clearly. He also understood where and when he needed other people to help him in realising the project objectives. Michiel: entrepreneurial, creative and focussed combined with an excellent understanding of people, is very good in finding and motivating the resources with the right expertise to accomplish the objectives. All of this he did in an aimable way, focussing on the content and the social relationships.

As one of Michiel´s direct supervisors during his year with Seatrade assisted him in setting up forecast modules for liner trades. Got to know Michiel as an open-minded, hard working professional, able to think out of the box and go the extra mile.
