Courtney B.

Michelle was a pleasure to work with. She is a detail oriented, motivated driven individual with loads of talent. She always had great ideas and always open to change or discussion on how to make something work better. I worked with her closely on several projects and worked well with her each time. She coordinated well with other employees to meet customer needs, and always had the company's best interest in mind, while remaining truly passionate about the specific product she was marketing. Michelle was always eager to learn new areas of marketing and did an excellent job expanding marketing efforts. Honored to say that I have worked with her and she is truly missed. Wish her nothing but the best in future endeavors and that anyone would be lucky to have her as a part of their team!

This has been the most fun I've had "working"! I manage all aspects of marketing for Convertible Solutions. Our great products and print solutions are unique and interactive, they are digital print (and traditional) pre-converted products. I have performed all planning, processes, and management for our tradeshow and corporate events. Website development, content management, and posting. Social Networking strategic planning and implementation. ☞ Daily or weekly posts to twitter, facebook, linkedin, pinterest, and various other social sites. Show less

My career launchpad! This location for Payless Cashways was the Distribution Warehouse for the hardware and home supplies company. We were state of the art in our Information Systems and Warehouse methods. No longer in business, devoured by Home Depot and Lowes. Corporate offices were in downtown Kansas City Missouri. The company operated from, i believe, the early 1960's and the doors were closed in 2001. My responsibilities ranged from Data Center Clerk, Data Center Operator, Data Center Technician, to Information Systems Supervisor, to finally Information Systems Manager. We ran a wide range of technologies -- 24 shipping dock door Conveyor System which ran the whole plant from Recieving to Order Selection to Shipping - and all steps in between. We installed a RF handheld scanner system with voice recognition order selection and shipping. My responsibilities included data entry and data management, phone system, time keeping system, warehouse managment systems, and all things computer. I totally loved "working" at Payless with a great group of people. Payless Cashways Inc. was in the 1980s and 1990s considered the first national chain to implement the powerful DIY strategy. They operated throughout the Mid West under the names Payless Cashways, Hugh M. Woods, Furrow, Lumberjack, Knox Lumber and for a while Sommerville Lumber was a wholly owned subsidiary. They faced their first major challenge in the mid 80s when they were the target of a leveraged buyout led by Asher Edleman and Sutherland Lumber. The resulting Payless Cashways stock buyback left them saddled with debt that almost stopped the expansion and steered the retailer to be left behind by the upstart "Big Box" home centers like Builders Square and Home Club (later Home Base). The last straw was the burst of the dot com era that left many banks unwilling to continue the dream of it ever becoming a viable competitor to the successful Home Depot and emerging Lowes chains.
