Working in Dr. Keith Pardee’s cell‐free synthetic biology lab to develop a custom cell‐free protein synthesis tool (based on the OnePot PURE system). Prepared a homemade cell-free energy solution and developed test assays that confirmed equivalent protein production when compared to the commercial equivalent. Includes the preparation of unique amino acid mixes. Transformed and overexpressed 36 transcription/translation factors for use in the OnePot PURExpress co‐culture. Designed GFP fluorescence assays to quantify the efficacy of various homemade and commercial lysates and PURExpress systems. Demonstrated successful overexpression of the snake BAP1 antivenom using cell lysate. Show less
