Michelle Turner leveraged relationships at all levels in order to launch and grow HerStory Programs for the first time in Long Beach and Compton. Through outreach she tied together cities, school districts, youth, parents AND donors, to bring the mission to life in this space. Michelle was eager to learn about people management, and always open to feedback and ideas to improver her efforts. Her desire to collaborate with all members of the organization as well as city and school leaders made it very easy to build the ship as we sailed into Long Beach and Compton. As a community leader Michelle was not afraid to step up to the plate, speak on behalf of the organization and advocate for girls in both public and private settings.
