  Work Experience: 8/2001 to present –Working as Senior Department Assistant in Pathology Department at SMC , responsible for daily organization of work flow in the department, prepare pathology cases to be mailed out ,processed. Alphabetize and sort batches of patient reports from prior day for file. Keep a log of all tissue blocks and biopsy pathology workup and archived specimens. Daily research all patient pending cases and tests needed for diagnosis. Research and compile a weekly log of delinquent cases to all CPL pathologists for completion. Research in house pathology patient’s reports and distribute reports to patient servers for clinicians review. Responsible for legal subpoenas requests for material. Responsible to keep all onsite material, slides, and specimens stored and in order for review. Distribute patient cases and mail of prior day to be reviewed for interpretation to pathologist. Operate a multiline phone system for medical offices and doctors for reports and materials. Order all supplies and office equipment. Process requests from medical facilities and patients for specimens and pathology slides needed to be sent out for second opinion. Work with adjacent lab to help pathologist secure best diagnosis and treatment for patient. Investigate discrepancies of department and seek resolutions. Modify and update office procedures. Respond to patient issues and special needs. I worked part- time after hours for 6 months as a department assistant at Dell Childrens Hospital in the pathology department, ordered tests, Data entry of consultations for pathologists review. Answered calls and filed pathology slides and reports. Ship and retrieve specimens for second opinion reviews. Distribute patient cases for interpretation and diagnosis to pathologist.
