      My initial role within the company as a Contract Administrator was specifically for the construction of the Auki Prison in Malaita, Solomon Islands and then the construction of Leadership Code Commission and Ombudsman office buildings in Honiara, Solomon Islands. These projects are AUSAID donor funded projects as part of the rehabilitation and reconstruction process in Solomon Islands. My duties included all aspects of Contract Administration and Quantity Surveying, but were not limited to:• establishing and liasing subcontract agreements with subcontractors,• measurement and estimation for variation pricing,• assessing and submitting monthly progress claims to head consultants,• maintaining compliance and administration as per contract and specifications,• maintain communication with all parties through dissemination of information as required,• updating and submitting monthly budget progress reports to management in New Zealand,• procurement of materials from local and overseas suppliers,• planning and coordinating delivery of materials to site,• travel arrangements for project staff,• general office management.The range of projects I have been involved with include a prison facility, budget housing estate, executive housing estate, and government office buildings. The project costs range from SBD $3.5 million to SBD $64 million.
