    • Biological Research Assistant
      • May 2017 - Apr 2018

Through the Carleton University Research Opportunity Program (CUROP), and an NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award, I was able to work in Sue Bertram's lab. It was a valuable opportunity to experience a lab environment and to learn how research is conducted. I gained experience working in a team environment, caring for the cricket colony, using behavioural observation software (BORIS), and measuring specimens using ImageJ. We were researching North American fall field crickets to determine if acoustic environment (both in terms of calling density and human noise) during juvenile stages influenced the behaviour of individuals once they matured into adults.
