Drive a 72 passenger school bus, without any bus monitor. Ages range from 5 to 13 yrs of age. Average amount of passengers riding bus is 42. I have two students with ADHD. 1 with sleeping disorder. Lot of people think driving is easy. Not in today's fast world. We need Parents to teach their child/children to learn respect for others. Learn manners. I can see the difference in the child who has a single parent and who has both parents at home. I know it's not easy, but with everyone pitching in to help raise a child, is a start. Bus Drivers are a trusted breed of workers to every child, its a safe zone, its the first person that your child sees when he/she leave your home. So if the child leaves home with anger, we hear and see it. If the child leaves home happy we hear and see it. We comfort, support, encourage, each and every child because we are there for them everyday at the same time at the same place. The child knows we will be there for them. Sometimes and its becoming often now a days the parents are not there for them. We have to make sure someone is there for them (with the age range I drive for) it's all about responsibility.
