  The Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment works closely with YA staff, teaching artists and organizational partners to develop, and document arts based workshops, residencies and adult professional learning initiatives. The responsibilities of the position include supervising the development and implementation of YA program templates and assessment tools for in school and virtual student workshops and residencies, and professional learning workshops. The director mentors and supports YA staff and artists to design and implement assessment practices, including program expectations and success criteria, and alignment with NJDOE Student Learning Standards, analysis of data, and highlighting programmatic lessons learned. The director works to ensure the content quality and accessibility of YA programming, and simultaneously strengthens YA’s partnerships with teaching artists, teachers, schools, funders and community organizations. This position is part of the Operations & Planning group which is charged with advancing the work of the strategic initiatives and serves as a reflective mentor whose role is to inspire group members to achieve the goals of their initiative and maintain intersectionality amongst initiatives.
