I have grown quite a bit at this transportation architecture firm. I started here as an intern right after completing my second year of Architecture School. I was then hired post-graduation after my Sustainability Consultant experience at HDR. Throughout my 5 years at Sowinski Sullivan I have been fortunate to be exposed to numerous jobs of many types - train stations, bus stations/facilities, transit stop canopies, subway platforms, & more - from new construction, renovations, expansions, to design build contracts. These jobs have also allowed my technical skill set to grow across many programs and platforms (Revit, AutoCad, Microstation/Open Buildings, Bluebeam, & the Creative Cloud). Not only have the company leaders been very supportive of my architectural growth, but they have let me utilize and explore my graphic design/branding skills as well. I have recently re-branded the firms image and identity. Show less

I earned this internship through a national competition (Innovation 2030: AIA COTE Top Ten Student Design Competition 2017-2018). Part of each teams award was a summer internship at any of the top 40 Sustainability Firms in the country. During my short time at HDR I collaborated with the dedicated Sustainability Team on tasks such as daylighting, shading, and radiation simulations and analysis, as well as overall support on energy modeling. In addition to the technical support I just listed, 25% of my time was spent doing Research & Development on Regenerative Design. As an experience, it was more valuable than words could describe.
