Coordinate and provide genetics and newborn screening (NBS) consultation and information statewide to agencies, organizations, and providers for the promotion of optimal health of all families in Wisconsin • Designed and implemented a new data system to analyze ongoing clinical care activities for those diagnosed with a NBS condition seen at contracted specialty clinics • Working to integrate short-term follow-up data from the NBS laboratory with ongoing clinical care data from contracted specialty clinics • Created a system to track special dietary treatment expenditures for the Newborn Screening Program that determined cost per condition and aided in more efficient and accurate projections of costs and revenue for the program • Assisted Wisconsin Medicaid in the handling of requests for genetic testing, including the development of policies, methods to streamline the prior authorization process and consultation on prior authorizations and appeals related to genetic testing • Co-planned a Genetic Testing and Insurance Forum with representation from payers and genetic providers that resulted in a workgroup that is piloting a newly developed prior authorization form • Coordinated the establishment of the Genetics Systems Integration Hub to improve the integration of genetics in public health in Wisconsin • Co-led a Wisconsin Cancer Risk Program Network workgroup that was awarded funding by the Wisconsin Cancer Council to develop a Continuing Medical Education webinar Show less
